In the face of blatant, illegal US attacks on Venezuela, popular movements around the world have taken to the streets in support of their Bolivarian Revolution. President Maduro and Cilia Flores have been kidnapped, charged with bogus “narco-terrorism” and conspiracy and detained as prisoners of war in New York.

The Venezuelan people are resisting and we must support them. We must continue to defend and stand alongside the brave people of Venezuela, against U.S. terrorism and destabilization. From Gaza to Caracas to the Belly of the Beast, we must have coordinated and organized resistance against imperialist war for sustained and growing international solidarity. Join this online, international rally to say no to US military aggression and commit to the fight for sovereignty, independence and just peace.

The rally will also be a platform to strengthen our collective mobilization for a coordinated week of resistance January 23-January 31 to target strategic political pressure points to stop the war on Venezuela in solidarity with the people’s resistance in Venezuela, Latin America and the Caribbean.

The U.S., in its lawless quest for full-spectrum domination, is killing us. The stakes could not be higher as the same state forces unapologetically take lives in our neighborhoods, in Venezuela, and across the globe. The U.S. wages consistent attacks and war against the peoples’ will and national sovereignty. Understanding clearly that our common enemy will stop at nothing to enforce its imperialist agenda, this moment demands that we confront our concrete targets head-on, building not just moral but material resistance that is evidence of a people united.

Given the stakes of the moment, we must be strategic and tightly coordinated in our efforts to mobilize consistently and effectively. That’s why we call for resistance against the militarized infrastructures that enforce U.S. hegemony and domination, in a focused effort to disrupt the U.S. war machine so we can build structures and systems rooted in just peace and genuine self-determination.

We understand that the call to mobilize and sustain our solidarity- in a more concentrated and militant way – will advance the broader anti-imperialist movement.

As a part of our growing collective resistance, we call for Week of Resistance January 23-31 to target key pressure points of U.S. militarization from physical force to economic warfare: U.S. Military Bases, Embassies, and Consulates, Detention Centers, City Halls, Cop Cities, Training Facilities, Weapons Manufacturers, Fossil Fuel and Oil Companies that support intervention

Demands:

Stop the war on Venezuela!

  • We must understand that this is not a singular moment but a continuation of the decades-long war on the Bolivarian Revolution to destroy Venezuela’s sovereignty. This imperialist intervention brazenly violates  international law. After over two years of genocide in Gaza, imperialist intervention tested on nations like Haiti that have long violated the declaration of the Americas as a Zone of Peace, U.S. military buildup in the Caribbean and subversion throughout the hemisphere, the ongoing colonial occupation of Puerto Rico, and the bipartisan intensification of repression domestically throughout the United States, the US invasion of Venezuela shows the US has no limits on its aggression

No to U.S. wars for regime change!

  • We unite with the communiqué shared by the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, which detailed that: “The objective of this attack is none other than to seize Venezuela’s strategic resources, particularly its oil and minerals, attempting to break the Nation’s political independence by force. They will not succeed. After more than two hundred years of independence, the people and their legitimate Government remain firm in defense of sovereignty and the inalienable right to decide their own destiny. The attempt to impose a colonial war to destroy the republican form of government and force a “regime change” in alliance with the fascist oligarchy will fail, as have all previous attempts.”
  • We also unite in opposition to the ongoing U.S.-led aggression, coercion, and subversion against sovereign states of Cuba, Iran, Colombia and others, as well as colonial impositions in Palestine, Haiti and beyond. An anti-imperialist position defends these states and peoples against U.S. interventionism and international lawlessness.

Free President Maduro and Cilia Flores!

  • The U.S. empire has also kidnapped Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores and has taken them to New York to prosecute them in U.S. courts. The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, under both Chavez and Maduro, has faced a number of overt and covert attempts to overthrow its government and destroy its socialist project. Inventing the “narcoterrorism” justification to criminalize leadership is a familiar page in the U.S. imperialist playbook. Maduro and Flores are prisoners of war in this broader attack on Venezuelan sovereignty.

Defend Venezuela’s Sovereignty and Right to Resist!

  • In his press conference detailing the operation, U.S. President Trump claims that the U.S. will “run” the Venezuelan government to ensure a “transition” and is prepared to continue attacking the country again. Yet, we know that the U.S. is not running Venezuela at the moment, and this is part of the U.S.’s psychological war and will not be accepted by the people of Venezuela.
  • In the face of these attacks, the working class, revolutionary people, and popular movements of Venezuela have taken to the streets in support of the Bolivarian Revolution. National liberation movements around the world continue to strike blows against US imperialism from Palestine to the Philippines. Our international solidarity with VenezuelaVenezuela from anti-imperialist, anti-war, and pro-peace movements and organizations must continue to defend and stand alongside the brave people of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

End the U.S. War on Migrants!

  • To struggle for peace, we must shut down ICE and address the imperialist root causes of forced/coerced migration, including ending the criminalization of migration and dehumanization of migrating peoples, as well as defending against the violations of national sovereignty that create the conditions for coerced or forced displacement and migration. This domestic repression is the direct counterpart to the United States’ foreign policy of full-spectrum dominance. It operates on the same logic of subjugation and control. US imperialism creates the economic crisis in countries through sanctions and plunder, creating the conditions that forced thousands of Venezuelans to migrate, and used this crisis to justify intervention. Then the same war machine weaponizes ICE with US military spending to terrorize those very communities from countries it destabilizes like Venezuela.
  • Communities across Minnesota are calling for a unified pause in economic activity—No Work, No School, No Shopping—to wield our collective power against the escalating fascist attacks on our neighborhoods that have resulted in the murders of Keith Porter Jr. and Renee Nicole Good, among many others, by ICE agents. As long as ICE exists as a part of the oppressive system designed to control and repress us, various entities of U.S. law enforcement will continue to violate constitutional and human rights, terrorize migrant communities, and profit from human suffering, as they lawlessly claim lives without a conscience. This is one system of violence and US-led war: a war on migrants and working-class Black, Brown and Indigenous people at home, and on sovereign nations abroad. Join us on January 23 and throughout the Week of Resistance to demonstrate opposition against ICE terror and U.S. imperialist intervention and war on Venezuela.

End the Genocide in Palestine and Defeat Zionism!

  • The fascist Zionist entity has been unmasked and unleashed as the most vicious expansionist project in the world today, completely armed and protected by the US. In response to the Al Aqsa Flood national liberation operation of the Palestinian resistance, the Zionist entity launched a genocidal campaign against the entire population of Gaza and accelerated the siege on the West Bank. The Zionists have used their extermination war to justify bombings, assassinations, and occupation of Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen while eyeing an ultimate war against Iran in their expansionist quest to establish “Greater Israel”.
  • The Zionists have also actively advised and armed other fascistic movements around the world where the people continue to fight for liberation from occupation, demonstrating that the occupation and liberation struggle of Palestine is intrinsically linked with settler colonialism and resistance to it worldwide. This is particularly true in the Americas, where Zionist have proliferated violence through counterinsurgency, political subversion, and arming of murderous right-wing governments.  Against this violence, the Palestinian people and and the broader Axis of Resistance inspire the whole world and serve as a compass for all anti-imperialist movements fighting for self-determination to end the genocide, free the prisoners, defend their land, defeat Zionism and win their freedom.
